Mahindra tractors?

yes for all sakes buy one now and help finish off america!! Heck why not buy 2, then when the first one breaks down and you can't find parts you can turn it into a parts tractor and keep the second one alive. How's that for a bad attitude?

Seem to be ok little tractors. Theyve been around for a while. Some on the old IH tractors, such as the 474 and the like were made by Manhindra I belive.

I've got several older Mahindra tractors with IH name-tags on them (B-275s and B-414s). Made late 50s, early 60s. Great and rugged small tractors. Live power, live hydraulics, hi-low range trans, differential lock, etc. For their time - they were excellent. New ones? I don't have a clue - except one model sold now by Mahindra is based on one of the original tractors made 50 years ago - has new sheet metal and a new DI engine.

As far as the U.S. suffering because you buy foreign? Give me a break! Last parts I bought from Deere, over the counter in Deere boxes - were made in China. Last new parts I bought for my IH, over the counter from my local Case-IH dealer - were made in India.

I'm an U.S. citizen - and as I see it - I suffer when I have to pay super-inflated prices for American products because of rediulous U.S. union-extorted wages.

There is nothing un-American about not being an idiot with your money and trying to get the most for your buck.

Now - as to what Mr. Buick-Deere says - it's a valid point. Name-brands like Deere certainly have better long-term resale value - and usually - better parts support. As to the latter though -I've got a 1960 Deere 1010 and also a 1960 IH Mahindra. Right now, parts support - from Case-IH and/or Mahindra - is better than from Deere for these particular tractors. In fact, Mahindra will sell me a brand-new, drop-in DI diesel engine to fit my 1960 IH - if I wanted it. That's pretty amazing.

There have been a lot of posts on here about Mahindras...I saw them in use at the ApHC National show in Ok City and priced them locally in Va, found that a similarly equipped Kubota was basically the same price and financed better.
I'm saving my pennies for the Kubota...

And I got a better deal on a Deere on special than comparable Kubota and Mahindra, which were both more expensive. Deere and Kubota are going to have superior resale to the Mahindra.

Are big Kubota's really assembled in Georgia like people say? Those same people said some of the wheels, parts, etc. are actually made in the US. I'm almost certain my small tractor came from Japan though.

Hey marlowe. Sorry that your Daddy's tractor company went bust and was bought up by foreigners like Fiat.
Too bad as well you dropped out of school and can't afford a decent used tractor.

buickanddeere,

They must have clipped your circumcision too close and to make up for it, you use the biggest thing you have...your mouth.

I bought a new JD 5320 three years ago. I laid my money down for that green paint...so don"t start with me.

The man asked about a Mahindra and here you come slobbering green puke all over the place.

Those 5103"s you gush over are built in India and I wouldn"t be a bit surprised to learn that Mahindra makes parts for JD.

My green tractor has a Mexican engine, Italian front axle, Kraut rear end, Spanish 3 point, Spanish electronics, I understand the hydraulics are possibly Polish and hidden underneath....I see that drawbar hitch is...Made in China. So much for being ASSEMBLED in the USA by a skilled workforce of bruthas in Georgia.

I wouldn't buy one. Stick with a good used like MF, Ford, JD, Case IH, AC, etc... If you want new stick with one that has good dealer support like NH, JD, Kubota, Agco. For me the service and parts depts. are way more important than the sales dept.

bd, why do you always have to show your ignorance. For someone who claims to be educated you sure don't act like it.Always critizing and acting like your the only one that ever set foot in a school, calling kids bastards and all that nonsence. They don't deserve that, no kid does. If you pulled your head out of your ? you would see that there are plenty of kids born to well to do parents that are not married also and the unemployment lines are full of people with college degrees. And besides, the last time I looked at my bible I don't recall it saying the good lord put you in charge of judging anybody! Instead of wasting your time on here why don't you give it a try. Again it's called the bible. Even someone like you that knows everything could learn something

agree that 5103 is only assembled in us dealer we bought ours from hates all the calls about leaks that reoccur almost weekly, personally think it is not operator friendly. very uncomfortable to operate over long periods

ttt
Sounds like I hit close to home for you. And no I don't approve of welfare Mom's having more kids because they are careless and want larger welfare cheques.

Have a look back and I warned you about purchasing Deere"s 5000/5010/5020 attempt at building a 2010 in 1990, 30 years after the last turkey.
The Deere executives who ended Mannheim production of the 55 series in favor of the Geaorga built 5000/5010/5020. They should have been forced to trade jobs with the janitorial staff. At least some practical hand on common sense would have prevailed afterwards.
Deere ended production of the 2010 quickly. Deere"s new exectives have spent 18 years trying to patchup the 5000/5010/5020.
One of the reasons you see so much overlap of the 4000 and 6000 series into the 5000 series HP range. Deere is saying either purchase a 4000 or 6000 series, not a 5000.

Are the 03 series that bad for leaks etc?

Local Deere dealer is advertising NEW 5103 fwa w/ 522 loader for $23,500 CDN.

I thought they looked like an ok cheap, basic tractor. Only thing I didn't like was the right hand reverse and "odd" shift pattern (2 beside 3) But the shift pattern is set up for an inline syncro shift 2 to R

We have had a newer Mahindra 350-DI for 4 years now, and it has been a fantastic tractor. This particular model is very close in design to the original B-275. We have had zero problems with the tractor, and I would recommend Mahindra tractors to others.

Do you remember how all of those people were against buying Japanese cars? Did you know that Toyota builds 9 of their vehicles in the USA? How many of those Fords and Chevys are built in the states these days? Chances are that the majority are all built in Mexico now. So which car do you buy now?

Don"t hate the foreign manufactures, it"s the American manufactures that have dropped the ball with making inferior products. All in the name of the mighty dollar.
