Hey All, After 20+ years of owning my 53 Super M stage 2 ,I noticed this bracket with the 2 holes in it bolted to the tank support on the RIGHT side of the tractor. What did it ever do??? (Yea, I just NOW observe this by accident while shutting the fuel off Saturday, and previously having both the fuel tank off,and hydraulic res/Lift All control off for a full cleaning ! . lol...)

Just looking at the Parts Catalog diagrams, it sure looks like a radiator shutter rod bracket. Likely bent back to make room for something else, as stated above. The only thing that doesn't make a lot of sense is that it's shaped wrong; the diagram shows a somewhat triangular bracket where the one in the photo is more square. That leads me to think that the original may have broken at some point and was replaced by a shop-made one.
