Ethernet for Win8 and WinXP

Thanks for the many responses! I used a (USB) thumb drive, put it in the old computer and copied the files I wanted, then put the thumb drive into my modern daily computer and I can copy or whatever. End of problem, so end of thread. Thanks to all!!
Thanks for the update. Most of the time, USB thumb drives are the easiest solution to moving a lot of data between computers that can't talk to each other.
 
FWIW, I have both a 5-port and an 8-port ethernet switch that are both still in their boxes. Bought them when a lightning strike took out our 24 port switch and they were all I could find locally. They were used for 2 days until I could get a larger one. They can be had (either or both) for the postage to ship. If anyone has a use for a switch shoot me a PM.
