Is there any tricks for removing the power steering cylinder on a 2940 for repairs? Looks to me that you have to take apart the adjustable front axle to gain access to the nut that holds the cylinder to axle. Your thoughts.

You are correct to remove the cylinder you would have to take axle apart to get access to barrel end mounting. The easiest way is leave barrel end connected to axle and disconnect just the rod end and pull it apart leaving the barrel end attached. Reseal it on tractor. Depending on your age of tractor some had the displacement type cylinder with the large rod and some had the small rod piston type cylinders. Some had one cylinder and some had two?? 2940's were odd in this area.
