Allotment Holder
Here in England, every local council has to provide an area of land, usually about 1/10th of an acre, for people who want it to grow vegetables, raise chickens or just go for a cup of tea and a chat with other allotment holders. This is how I started out many years ago and ended up ploughing most of our local ones for other people. This old boy is off to do some hoeing, used to be a common sight in local villages but the young people of today do not want grow stuff when you can get it from the super market all clean and wrapped in cling film.
