Making progress with field work

It's that time of year again where there never seems to be enough hours in the day to accomplish everything that needs attended to. We've made good progress on the tobacco and will probably finish up coultering in the final application of nitrogen on the corn tomorrow. Here's a few pics from the last several days.
<img src=https://www.yesterdaystractors.com/cvphotos/cvphoto125022.jpg> dad has been running the baccer Coulter rig. He finally finished up with the 28 S.

Me and Cruze were busy plowing out and applying the 0-2-41 fertlizer to the baccer till we had a welcome rain delay. It dried out enough for Dad to start back today on that. Jim in NC if you get caught up, come on over and I'll get the rollers on the 140 where you can make a few rounds for old times sake. Lol.

I was able to get going on cultivating the corn. The 574 brought back fond memories of plowing corn years ago, except with then a 4 row Lilliston. I have a IH 183 8 row 30 inch on it now. It does surprisingly well with it.

Oldest son got his corn plowed with the Ole 300. I think it got a little too good to him after we finished tweaking the cultivator as he wanted to turn around and plow it again. I had to remind him that gas is $ 4.15 a gallon and it surely wasn't necessary right now. My buddy and myself got all of the soybean land disked. Between the A/C on the tractor, and also the house A/C going on vacation, it's been a bit draining on these 90 degree days. Hopefully this will all be resolved next week in time to plant soybeans. I hope everyone else's gardening and crops are going well thus far.

Where are you located? Corn is just being planted in the Midwest. Thats a lot of cultivator for a 574, not sure it would handle it around here. Cool pics, I like seeing old iron working.

I live in the Eastern part of N.C. As for the cultivator on the 574, it handles it good but I definitely would not want anything any larger behind it.

No field work around here, about a week ago the first got started, next day very heavy rain. Couple of days later first planter seen in field in evening, next day water standing every where, 2 days later cloud burst could not see out of house windows and small tornado in area then yesterday rain standing in fields again. Dought if any field work will get done before Mid May or later. Northwest Ohio. Possible rain in todays forcast then nothing for rest of week. Low 50 today up to 85 at end of 7 day forcast.

Thanks for the invitation CR. We got .8 inch of rain last night. We remain very dry and are having trouble getting most any seed to germinate. Our small fields and curvy rows tend to keep one awake here, and I'll bet after a few rounds in your baccer patch I'd be fighting to stay awake. Yall have things looking nice.

We received a somewhat shall I call it a surprise but expected 2 tenths last night. When I came in for supper at dark, it was still clear and thought we'd missed it. They did have a bad storm just West of us earlier in the day. We had a hard 3 tenths earlier in the week. I have been procrastinating planting soybeans till we get good topsoil moisture but it's time to get going on that by the calendar.

We farm appropriately 800 acres. We usually have 100 to this year 116 acres of tobacco with the balance of acreage in corn and soybeans.
