1850 Hydraulics

I have an 1850 Oliver that I installed a Westendorf WL-44 onto. This loader came off of a 1955. When I purchased the hydraulic lines were unhooked from the stack on the frame for dismounting so after fighting them and then getting smarter and chasing them from valve to cylinder to make sure I had them hooked up right I ran into another problem.

The hydraulics that go to the 3 spool valve to run the loader come from the remotes.

I was able to get the loader raised about 3’ off the ground by holding the spool valve control and the remote lever. but then it stopped and wouldn’t go up or down. Tractor still steers but quickly moved it and shut it off. Any ideas what’s wrong now?

Seems like I remember something about open/closed center maybe?

Thanks

The 1955 was closed center and the 1850 is open. You need a different valve unless that one can be changed to open center.
