Frozen clutch - dissolve rust with Coke?

I can believe it. Drink Pepsi but dump that nasty Coke down the nearest hole.

    Battery question

That makes sense. Was in Walmart this evening and about all of the batteries were made in South Korea by East Penn. The H8 didn't really say where but it was an East Penn. The little mower batteries were East Penn but said made in Vietnam.

Wonder what size generator it has bolted up on the front using the belt coming off the crank?

E12 batwing leaving strips of grass

That would be my opinion without seeing a pic. I've never tried it but I wonder if you can build up the edges with a welder, do a little sharpening at the same time, and save a chunk of change instead of buying new blades. The book for the mower should have the length dimension for new blades...

Need cab door locks and ignition with private key

I just ordered an airtag for it. I guess if it is stolen and ends up in Chihuahua or somewhere I can always go down and steal it back from the cartel.

    fill cracks in tractor tires

The one I got was a freebie. A friend had one go bad and he replaced both of his so since they were about 2/3rds worn and I got his good one as we had same size rims. The tractor tire place he uses has a whole bunch of useable tradeins out back but when I checked 3 years ago they didn't have...

    Battery question

I agree. But batteries are a series of plates inside a case. The cases of various sizes are will only hold enough plates of a particular size to fit that case. So smaller batteries will have less cranking amps and less storage capacity. Hence the series 31 with it's large size case probably...

    Battery question

Yep. 5/24. I had to pull a couple 1/24's off of the shelf to get the 5/24 out of the back at walmart. They say they go by the receipt anyway assuming you still have it. Sam's has a middle corridor in their battery racks for restocking. I could just walk in their and pull a newer one out...

    Left-turn motorcycle collisions

It happens with cars and tractors too. I had a 70 Honda 450 back in the day. A helmet and face shield doesn't help with a big flying grasshopper or locust hits me in the neck at 80 mph. Having a rear tire go flat on the highway is manageable. Having a front tire go flat on a sand road is a...

    Military Farm Tractors

Well I just can't believe the government would pay extra for cabs to benefit us poor soldiers. I suppose they made up for it by not having heaters or air conditioners in the cabs turning them into sweatboxes just to add to some soldier discomfort.

My tractor started by its self ....

I recently reversed the wires on the key switch on my IH 2606 and just turning the key from off to on engaged the starter.

    John Deere GP

Just wondering if this is what a neighbor had around 60 years ago? He would go around his field and it would go pop, a short delay, and then another pop and so on as it went around. Always thought it sounded like a one lunger used in oil field engines. It was kinda like the belt pulley and...

Need cab door locks and ignition with private key

Thanks. That is an idea about a switch in the starter circuit. I almost think one of the mower key switches might work if they are key differently but I'd have to pull the dash panel to see. The door locks are the tricky part but the starter would work. Just seems to me someone would have...

    Someone shot my cat

i was driving down the highway last Saturday morning in an industrial area and there was a small kitten laying in the middle of the other lane. I pulled over and as I did it moved into my lane and laid down. I picked it up and took it home. Looks like it was just old enough to be weaned...

    Battery question

Did some looking today. The bottom of each battery had imprints for date of mfr and other stuff such as the manufacturer. However I didn't want to flip it over to read them close but I took pics. On the top of the Duracell it says it is made by East Penn Company and made in the USA. On top...

    fill cracks in tractor tires

Anybody have a magic potent for this tire? This was how I got it 17 years ago. Still holding air. I always decided that I wouldn't take it our on a road trip as I'd hate to stuck on the road with a flat tire. I got a used Goodyear tire that will go on one side but I need to find another used...

Steering seal under the steering wheel

I'm thinking you have already removed the few bolts and got a look inside to see what you exactly need. Then put it back together. With mine oil just gushed up out the top of the upper column around the steering wheel shaft. I thought there was a top seal till I took it apart and realized...

Steering seal under the steering wheel

As I think back when I did my 2606, the top seal was a dust seal. It had to be unbolted to get at the orings inside and the one at the bottom was a booger to get at. Then it had to be put back together just right to work. Here are the numbers I found for the 606 & 2606. #2 Dust seal is...

Steering seal under the steering wheel

Do a search under ih 584 integral hydrostatic power steering valve seals. Messicks drawing 10-20. Looks like a number of o-rings in there as a kit.

    Installing temperature sensor in 560

The sensor has to shoulder up against the inside of the bushing in the head. Then the bushing around the sensor screws in and tightens down on the sensor shoulder. When reinstalling my engine I noticed the head just had a regular pipe bushing in it and the sensor would slide on down into the...
