Aluminum radiator

folks with aluminum radiators for John Deere’s where can I get one and does the sheet metal bolt up. Or would I have to make custom brackets then, with custom piping etc?
Looking for options.

Spillman Bros in Zoar OH make the aluminum tanks and sides for unsettled A's and G's if that is what you talking about. You still need a core for it. Warren Townsend from MI. makes a whole radiator for styled ones but it doesn't look original.

If you have a styled JD . Cheapest would to google . Amazon and ask for one. Know your Dimensions. They are a bit less than $200. Get 3 row. But I didn't have much room. So got 2 from a Honda car. $120 each. Not hard to mount them. Just use a 5 gallon a minute pump.

If you have a styled JD . Cheapest would to google . Amazon and ask for one. Know your Dimensions. They are a bit less than $200. Get 3 row. But I didn't have much room. So got 2 from a Honda car. $120 each. Not hard to mount them. Just use a 5 gallon a minute pump.

I just measured where the nose cap should go, then bolted.a 1by1" angle iron to sides of nose cap. With two 5/16" bolts one on each side. Then bolted the angles to the frame just once on each side. That gives a little wiggle room in case I measured a little off. Then snapped the side shields on. The radiator is mounted to the nose piece at the top. And the timing cover at the bottom. Sorry about the pictures. Didn't mean to post pictures about shaking the 435 JD fuel tank. With rocks inside with a reciprocating saw. And baling twine. Shook it for 45 min. Almost perfect. Sorry again.

We have been using a 5gal a minute pump from Harber Freight. Cheap.enough to keep a spare.

Hey Vic. I put in my radiator and that pump. But it overheats and pukes out the coolant. Have you encountered this? Maybe I have a block. Or I’m thinking cap overflow so fluid stays inside

You do have your pump in the bottom hose pushing water into the engine.

I hooked sucking from bottom of engine and through pump. Into bottom of radiator. Then coming out top of radiator back around

How long did you run it ? How hot did it get. I never start to pull with temp over 170. Will never be over 200 back at truck. But I don't let them Idle in line for the scales. I have pulled 4 engine hot rod tractors all night with the 435 JD all night. But I shut it off and left pump and fan run between . I have 2 little radiators in series on the D17. But it is 604 cu in.

Well tried again. Hot hot. Seems maybe it’s my stock fan? Not pulling enough airflow?
Running for few min again. 160. Bang. Now. Hot coming from radiator back to block. I even tried this pump. Same thing. It’s 5gal per min. Too.

So you don't have the electric fan mounted tight to front of radiator.. your fan is to far from radiator. And to big. And runs to slow. Most guys take the original fan and long shaft off. And run their alternator back at the governor housing. At 130 was just getting air out. The Idea is to cool your engine without running it. Between pulls. Hope this helps.

And run their alternator back at the governor housing. At 130 was just getting air out. The Idea is to cool your engine without running it. Between pulls. Hope this helps.

Ok. Yes. I ordered an electric fan and will wire it separately. I’ll look into alternator at governor housing. Around me I never noticed that. But I am new to jd. I always pulled my Oliver. Any help would be awesome on that. I hope to get this going soon to pull. Or text 7248011480. Thanks
