    Been there, done that. The LP ran so hot that the plastic governor gear melted enough that it bound up and broke it. After that I noticed that Honda had a service note that they had the same thing and LP would void the warranty. Might want to check with B&S. Frank

    Change the thermostat. I had the same thing happen to me and after some time I finally pulled the new thermostat I had installed out and looked at it and it was wide open. New doesn't always = good. Frank

    Billy is correct,that sos trans can cost you more than the tractor is valued at. Easy to destroy with the incorrect fluid. I would not take the chance if the sos is in good condition now. Frank

    Thanks bib in TX from Ne That was my problem I was trying to time the governor and now I see that you just time the mag and if it isn't correct you move the governor gear to get it correct. Frank

    Thanks anallisguy The mag drive gear in horizontal is the clue I needed. I was trying to time the governor to the cam gear because I was assuming that it should be in the correct place for mag timing. Thanks again.

    I saw that in 84 which refers to timing the cam to the crank and refers you to the governor section for governor to mag but in that section I do not find timing instructions. Also I have no marks on the governor gear. Thanks Frank

    On a WC how do you time the gear on the cam to the gear on the governor? This does have to be timed for the mag to be timed doesn"t it? I do not find any marks on the gears and the book that I have isn"t clear on this. Thanks Frank
