    White 2-155 hydraulics

    White 2-155 hydraulics

I talked to a guy today about a 2-155 White. He said the only problem with it is if it sits for a couple of days you have to start it with your foot on the brake and hold it for 10-15 seconds after it starts or the hydraulics will be noisy from air mixing with the oil. Any ideas what it would...

    966 crankshaft pulley seal

Thank You again for your help! It was me you helped with changing the 1000 RPM PTO shaft in the 1086. It went well and works great. I machined a plug and was able to repair the oil tube. Looking in at the 966 I wasnt sure if there was enough room for it to come off without moving the front axle...

In case anyone wonders, I didnt have a socket the correct size. I was a Tool and Die maker for 25 years. I measured and made a mandrel. The size was .913.

    1294 pressure plate

Yes, it does have the Laycock. Can this adjustment be done without splitting the tractor?

    1086 pto

One more question I hope you can help with, the pto quits running going down a steep hill. Its not low on oil. What should I look for to cure that while its apart?

    1086 pto

Thank You very much! I was afraid it wouldnt be that easy, thats why I asked before I tried it. I had the pto out of it about 5 years ago, the 540 shaft broke when I was bailing hay.

    1294 pressure plate

I have a 1294 Case, built by David Brown. The clutch releases enough for the tractor to stop moving but hangs up enough that its difficult to shift. Its properly adjusted as far as free play. It has the laycock pressure plate. Ive had the tractor split, last winter, and found a 2 bad bearings...

    1086 pto

I have a 1086 that the 1000 rpm pto shaft is bent on. I dont know how it happened, it was that way when we got it. We didnt have any 1000 rpm equipment so it didnt matter and I never fixed it. We have a JD chopper now that needs it. I have bought a replacement shaft. Looking at the parts drawing...

Anyone here still use a shaper?

I worked in a glass bottle mold shop that had one. A group of college students came through on a tour. One of them cupped his hands and caught some of the pretty blue chips coming off the shaper. He didn’t hang on them long and made a fair amount of noise.

    2x4

In the mid 70’s I worked in a GMC-International dealership. When the mechanic at the local UPS went on vacation they sent me there to fill in for him. At the time all of their local delivery trucks had 300-6’s in them.

    Machine shop guys...

I used to use a different brand one we had 3 shanks for , one for a Moore jig bore, one for a Bridgeport and one like the one in the picture for a Fosdick jig bore.

    Machine shop guys...

I think where it changes color below the shank is where it screws together.

    Machine shop guys...

You didn’t post a picture of the shank end so I can’t say for sure. Many boring heads have shanks that are threaded on. You can change the shank to use on different machines. Are you sure that this one isn’t? I’ve seen some pretty creative ways of attaching them.

    Compression Misfire Again

I worked for 30 years at a Westinghouse, later Eaton plant in Horseheads, NY. They make Vacuum Interrupters there. They are high voltage, high current switches. The contacts are in a vacuum because vacuum is an insulator. I can’t answer your question more than that.
