    1650 hydraulics?

Having issues with end loader, the bucket won't stay in position. Has this anything due to the buttons on the hyd levers? I'm not sure if they even work. Some wires are pulled out or cut off on the opposite side. Okay, if I try digging the bucket tilts, going deeper than wanted. I can tilt...

    Light switch for 1650 Oliver

I have a 1964 Model and it has a pull type light switch with 5 wires hooked on it. Got wiring figured out. Got all lights working anyway but had to by-pass the light switch. What I found here is big round turn switch. Also have to buy the handle. I don't want to modify the dash hole. Is there...

    Oliver 1650 - right brake

Replaced brakes last fall. Pretty much set until this spring. Right brake hanging up. It would clatter something terrible and lock wheel. Back up and it clatter and break loose. Mercy. Just me. Had to rope off the hydraulic hoses (3). I'm good but my body is getting old. Had to get on knees and...

Removing surface rust with Iron Out

Just playing around. Wife went shopping. Had some Iron Out laying around and wondered if would work on the rust of my Oliver 1650. Maybe not the best and perhaps something better. 1 cup of Iron Out in 1 gallon of warm water. Stir, but watch as it does foam some. Followed instructions - dampen...

    distributor - exploded view?

What title says. Liking to find the vacuum advance plate and how it works. Right now it won't move. Tractor starts and run great as is. Idles (tach bouncing a tiny bit) 200 to 400 rpm. Runs up to 2500 rpm no problem. Brother doesn't want to take distributor apart, fearing something broke...

    Exhaust/intake gasket?

I don't see a regular gasket, just a sheet of gasket material.

    distributor

Trying to understand what I have. Okay, I have a original distributor and tachometer and a vacuum advance is in place. Which is working the advance? Brother checked the vacuum. The line is clear and diaphragm holds air but no movement/advancement.

    How heavy, tractor and loader?

Just what the title says. I know how much. Had it weighed today. I was stunned. Any guesses? Oliver gives of the 1650 weighing 7,815 pounds. On the plus side mine has 7.50 - 15" front tires and 18.4 x 34 rear tires. Unknown loader. I've looked a bunch and most all loaders aren't half...

    Oliver 1650 - left brake

Figured a new disc but what is under the cover I might run into? Pedals locked together only the right brake is doing the stopping/holding. Ain't so sweet on steep hillside.

    1650 Hydraulic problem -multiple issues

Oliver 1650.It is and isn't a problem. End loader bucket wants to tip down after a few minutes. I've had the hydraulic lines off and new couplings and changing things. And then had two more cylinders rebuilt. After I got all installed is when I noticed the bucket tipping down. So got the...

    Oliver 1650 oil change

Bought the tractor just about a year ago. Brother and I gave it a check over and all looked okay - considering some replacements were needed. It had 2 brand new oil filters, one for the tranny and one for the engine oil. So, left it. Tractor down due to having 2 more hydraulic cylinders...

    oliver 1650 - PTO issues

The PTO works great, but won't fully disengage. The only way the PTO will stop is tractor down to idle (450 rpms) and pull the lever back as hard as I can. Even then I shut off the tractor to remove or install the drive shaft. Adjusting the shaft to the PTO doesn't help. Got the manuals but...

    Electrical, points, condensor?

1964 Oliver 1650 Runs great and then dies. Thought gas line was plugged. Started at Sediment Bowl Assembly. Found stuff gunk and cleaned. Problem though - the seal for the shut off valve failed. So I bought a new Sediment Bowl Assembly. Tractor the same, runs great and then quits like it's...

    Do I have a problem?

1964 Oliver 1650 Trying to fix/update stuff. Found spring compressed by the High Speed Load Adjustment screw. Took spring out and screwed screw until it bottomed out in main jet. Whoa! Bottom of thumb head is just below the cast iron and just a hint of space under the head from bottoming out...

    governor not set right

Followed manual. Throttle wide open. Edit - Oliver 1650. Year 1964 - lost this while editing. Had a gas blockage, so inspected carb and reset floats, followed problem and corrected (blockage came from something inside the gas tank). While I was at it I checked the governor. Never thought...

1650 Oliver - hyd cylinder issues

Got a 2 way hydraulic cylinder. New fittings and hoses. [b:1259b7debe]Problem; Cylinder will not work with rpms of 1000 and more. Shaft will not move out at all. Just like the cylinder locks up.[/b:1259b7debe] Works great with rpms of 750 or less - shaft moves out/extends and in/retracts...

    hyd coupling

See pic. Pioneer. For the life of me I can't get the hose to come out. As marked, everything free. The sleeve just doesn't move back or forward. 3rd arrow from left should be the sleeve. I can't get pic to load. I'll see if my sister can.... This post was edited by sonnythomas on...

Had a list cylinder start leaking - I think near 4 foot long. No farm implement dealer would repair, and I get sent to MFC in Galesburg, Illinois. Whoa! Got there I saw cylinders from about 6" long to one the was the length of tandem truck. That thing had to be near 2 foot in diameter...

    8N Ford - overdrive - was there a 8 cylinder?

Grew up on farm. Me, on the small to start. Uncle found a 1949 8N 4 speed that had overdrive. I was born in 1949. It did whine in overdrive, and it proved faster than my uncle's International H and M. :D Since then, I've seen some said 8Ns (4 speeds) that didn't have overdrive. Wondering if it...
