I am sure you have this covered but maybe I can save you a headache by sharing that the first time I worked on this pump I missed this Shop Manual Note: "The pistons on the scotch yokes are off center. Position the scotch yokes so that the pistons are at their closest position to each other."...- Btzj02

I Defected
Technically it is not defection if you are still driving a tractor. Moving to town to live in an independent/assisted living facility, now that is defection. For me I hope that day never comes.- Btzj02

2600 gas engine. Can't turn it off
That is a four post solenoid. The Large posts don't care what side the battery or starter are on. The two small posts are connected to the solenoid coil that drives the switch that closes/opens the contacts inside the solenoid between the battery and the starter. With current flow through the... -

Ford 4000 SU Diesel. Is engine oil age an issue even if hours on that oil are low?
Due to what Sean said I changed oil every year before the motorcycle was put away for the winter. Now all my equipment gets an engine oil change once a year and hydraulic oil more based on condition of oil. -
Blown head gasket? 8N
If you suspect a head gasket problem a compression check will help identify that or other issues that may explain high temperature.- Btzj02

O.T. log splitter
I have had pretty good luck using google to search for "tune up kits" which usually include a fuel filter. Google the Engine, not the splitter. I too only use non oxygenated fuel but if your only choice is oxygenated fuel it will be OK for a six year old engine. When I put the log splitter away...- Btzj02

Hydraulic pump won't prime
After working on my pump I am thinking that screw is only for holding the plate while assembling the pump. Once the pump is assembled that screw doesn't really do anything. -

Jubilee compression, checking around 110 to around 100 dry. I'm new to tractors and newly retired. I was told to rebuild it. I have now torn it down
A little trouble shooting before "tearing it down" would have gone a long way. Now that you are here what is your interest in tinkering with the old Tractor? You are retired, do you have the time and interest in getting your hands dirty? I by no means am a great mechanic but I enjoy working on... -
Is it the Coil?
Don't forget that the fuel valve has a reserve just like an old motorcycle fuel valve. Two turns open is normal operating position. Turn valve all the way open to access the reserve of the fuel tank. Easy and quick to check!- Btzj02

Continuity across 9n solenoid
Be careful with Ohm readings and Continuity readings if you are testing things that are still mounted to the tractor. A Resistance or Continuity test can take a different path than you may think. Recently I was working on a tractor that had an instrument panel light that was wired to always be... -
Unloader Valve or Control Valve?
Take a look at this video. This guy does a great job showing how to access the valves on a 960, which I assume is similar to your 841. -
