    8000 ford engine noise

I have a relative who bought an 8000 Ford out of a salvage yard.He got it running and it starts and runs good, but it has a tick in the top end. He checked valve clearances and they were good. He loosened injector lines on each cylinder until he eliminated the noise. Looking in the cylinder with...

192 four cylinder head gasket issue

My brother purchased an industrial 192 4 cylinder engine to put in his 4000 4 cylinder tractor. The engine was pulled from something and has a rockford clutch on it. The head gasket is blown between cylinder 2 and 3. In researching this I found out that these engines were prone to doing this...

Just saw a 4200 flat deck on eBay in Kentucky. Says it all there and in good condition. No wheels and a narrow front. Don't know how to post a link, but I'm sure you can find it. Price is cheap.

    3000 Transmission swap

I bought a 3000 gasser pretty cheap, but it has a 4speed trans. Saw an 8 speed for $500 on fleabay. Is this a decent price? What is involved in the swap? Better to just sell it and find a different tractor? Looking for any advice. Thanks

    9n front hub seals

I ordered a set of seals for the hubs of my 9n from this site. The seals are heavy rubber seals in a metal case. From reading old posts I have figured out that the rubber goes towards the spindle face. I also got two felt rings. Where do these go? Also how deep do the other seals get driven into...

    A4T

Any of you guys looking for an A4T? I know where one is sitting. Don't think it has been run for awhile. Has a cab and duals all around. Tires look OK from the road. Never been up close. I used to run one back in the late 70's for a wild rice grower. I am in Central MN

Does anyone know the flywheel to crankshaft torque specs for a 6000 diesel? I looked in my FO-22, but didn't find it.

    sos

Looking for a source for an 8.06 clutch disk or a core for a 6000. I can get one rebuilt, but I need a good core. Anyone have one? Mine has the hub torn out and is cracked through the web between the holes of the center. I've had it rebuilt before, but this one has seen better days. Thanks

    6000 starting problem

My relatives 6000 has developed an occasional no start condition. Has been starting fine and now won't crank. Can sometimes wait a few minutes and it will start, other times nothing. Jumped across the solenoid right at the starter and it will crank so I'm wondering about the solenoid in the...

    460 hydraulics

I need some help on a relatives 460. When he tries to start it the hydraulic pump seems to be dragging the starter down. You can get it started if you pull the lever to raise the loader.Once running it still seems to be laboring against the pump. I was told the hydraulic controls and pump are...

    6000 sos

Okay so I got involved with helping some of my relatives with their 6000. They replaced the TLC this summer on the tractor and we were driving it around the yard checking it out. Everything seemed ok, when suddenly we lost all gears below 6th. We went through the adjustment process, but did not...

    sos 6000

My relatives 6000 has somehow had the shift cable come apart at the internal connection for the transmission cable end. Did it break? The upper end looks good. Can the lower half be fished out and reconnected. Does removing the cover over the the cam assembly get me in to see the problem? Any...

    6000 sos

Got my 6000 back together and working. Thanks to all, especially Tony Jacobs who suggested loosening the bands to see if it would start. It did. Apparently bands were rusted or stuck to drums and came free when loosened up at the adjusters . R1 didn't work at first, but did start working the...

    sos 6000 commander

Got my 6000 back together yesterday. Some info on the clutch disc I got. It was a solid disc type and I had to use an alignment tool to install it. Everything seemed to go fine until we went to start it. Cranks good for a second or two and then it acts as if a big load has been applied...

One more question. How do you align the clutch disc? Do you use a regular alignment tool? I saw no mention in the IT manual about how to do this. Thanks

Got my 6000 apart, the TLC was shot. Tried to order one from Ford and was told the 8.02 disc is not available. My auto Value store could get a disc, but didn't know the size. Seems that the 7.25 is the one I see on the Web. Will the smaller one work? Seems that my pressure plate would be too...
