Just priced Rim Guard and calcium...wow!!!

Yep - shocking. My sister just paid $800 to have a tube replaced and the rim guard refilled on a Kubota M5400. I think the tire was 14.9 X 28. Doubly hard because the tractor ran over her husband and killed him year ago today.

Hi all. Looking at a mf175

Looks like you got a decent deal at that price. Tires look good - on a used tractor thats a huge factor. Good luck!

    MASSY 150 PERKINS GAS

Poultry farmer neighbor when I was young had one as his only tractor. He worked the heck out of it for everything. It was pretty tired when it got sold after he died. I really liked driving it, except for the multi-power. He never taught me how to use it correctly. He replaced the original...

What brand paint is closest to IH Red?

Just did a brush re-paint of my 2424 last summer. Maybe more time than you want to spend? I found quarts of Rustoleum IH Red paint on-line, Best deal I found was 2 for $35 from Wal Mart of all places. Tractor came out looking pretty good.

Ferguson TO-35 stuck in 1rst Gear

Maybe put it in high gear, high range and rock the tires by hand?

    International 444 front pin

Not going to be able to help you. I have a heavy frame with weights on the front of my tractor that covers up that area. Take a look at Messick's on-line parts diagram, that may help you. https://www.messicks.com/cas/142543?sectionId=303461&diagramId=1389469. I can't open your attachment now...

    MF-50 or IH 444?

If the MF has multi power I would stay away from it. The 444 has the much simpler 4x2 transmission. Multi Power is nice, but how do you know if its sound in the tractor you are considering. You also did not say if both or either have power steering. If you are happy with your 444 generally...

    International 444 front pin

I will get under my 2424 tomorrow and see how that looks. On a related issue - does anyone know if there is a grease fitting around that spot? I would have swore there is one, but when I greased my tractor last week I could not find it.

    Big Castle Nut Removed

Talked to my auto mechanic who also is a farmer and does ag work. He had me bring the Woods gearbox down to his shop and about 5 hits with his impact driver removed the large castle nut from the shaft. Thanks to everyone who responded with ideas - turned out to be the simplest one that worked...

Removing Castle Nut on Woods Mower Gearbox?

Now that I have the correct size socket to fit the castle nut, I am unable to get it to budge. Other than heating it, which worries me, and putting the gearbox itself in a press to hold it from moving around, I am out of ideas. Right now I have it on my workbench. Any suggestions? (its...

    Need Some Assistance!

Yep - there are 2 plugs on my 2424. Agree with Tomtinker. The 2nd one will get out anything in the lower portion of the tranny that the first one will not drain because its in the slightly higher part of the casting. Tim

What size is M24X2 Castle Nut?

36M socket should be here on Monday. By the time I am done I may have an expensive set of metric sockets, one at a time.

What size is M24X2 Castle Nut?

Thanks! I found the same info somewhere else. Guess I am back to Amazon for a 36MM socket.

What size is M24X2 Castle Nut?

The Woods finish mower I bought this spring has a healthy gearbox leak that I am trying to get to the seal to replace. Once I got the gearbox off the mower I found a bit pulley that drives anything held on with a big castle nut. In SAE it was between 1 and 1/4 and 1 and 1/2 sockets. Parts...

    What a Mess!!!

Agree with the radiator shop. I took a tank from a Case 700 in years ago. The shop told me it had to be spotless before they would work on it - so I had to take it to the car wash and blast it out. That worked, which was why I suggested the pressure washer. I did not have one back then, so...
