    8000 ford engine noise

Thanks Bern. I will check those things out. I have seen the grooves you are talking about in the rocker arms. Hadn't thought to check that. The noise just seems louder than I think loose valve clearance would be.

    8000 ford engine noise

A couple of follow up items. The noise is up high in the motor. I convinced him to get a oil pressure gauge and check the pressure. 50 degrees yesterday with 15-40 it had 50 psi at idle cold. He also told me later that when looking in the cylinders with the borescope, some showed hone marks and...

    8000 ford engine noise

I got over to listen to the tractor yesterday. It has a definite rap as you rev it up. My ears aren't what they used to be, so I really don't know what to say about it. It isn't your typical diesel " noise" from just running. It does get louder as it is revved. They did swap injectors and the...

    8000 ford engine noise

Well I didn't get there today, so I will try to get there over the weekend. About an 1-1/2 hour drive. From what Bern said I would guess it is not a wrist pin. Can an injector make a ticking noise at all times? Anything else I should look for?

    8000 ford engine noise

I haven't heard it, but he says it runs good, so I have no reason to suspect the injectors. Apparently doesn't miss.

    8000 ford engine noise

Thanks Bern, from what I gathered it is always there. Never goes away. I am going to try to go listen to it today and will report back.

    8000 ford engine noise

I have a relative who bought an 8000 Ford out of a salvage yard.He got it running and it starts and runs good, but it has a tick in the top end. He checked valve clearances and they were good. He loosened injector lines on each cylinder until he eliminated the noise. Looking in the cylinder with...

192 four cylinder head gasket issue

I was looking for information on the 192 online and found a site called Smostak. The question being asked was about any Ford 192 gurus around? After reading some of the responses and questions , the poster mentioned he had a Hyster forklift and had talked to a Hyster dealer who mentioned that...

192 four cylinder head gasket issue

My brother purchased an industrial 192 4 cylinder engine to put in his 4000 4 cylinder tractor. The engine was pulled from something and has a rockford clutch on it. The head gasket is blown between cylinder 2 and 3. In researching this I found out that these engines were prone to doing this...

Adapting A Ford Pickup Truck Hub To An 8N

We put 48 Ford front hubs from an F-2 on our 9N. Used the pickup wheels and tires. Looked a little odd because we left the brake drums on it also, but it worked fine. The bearings are the same as I remember. Not sure on the spindle seal. Was 40 years ago.

    4200 Flatdeck

Just saw a 4200 flat deck on eBay in Kentucky. Says it all there and in good condition. No wheels and a narrow front. Don't know how to post a link, but I'm sure you can find it. Price is cheap.
